About the Opportunity
Mercy Place Boronia is a small traditional style aged care facility housing 43 residents in beautiful gardens at the base of the Dandenong Ranges. The small home has built a very stable pool of staff with some having worked for over 10 years, and this commitment to the home has led to a strong community and family feel within the home. Staff work together to ensure that the residents are well cared for and living their best lives.
An opportunity to assist us with a short term permanent contract for the next 3 months, or as a casual Chef working consistent shifts for the next two months, has arisen to cover unexpected leave and planned annual leave. The position may continue past this appointment within the company at other facliities in the region for the right candidate and include some ongoing permanent shifts at the sister site Mercy Place Montrose located next door.
To provide leadership and manage the catering services, ensuring residents are provided with a variety of nutritious meals whilst maintaining health regulation compliancy and other requirements met in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
To provide tasty and nutritious food to residents ensuring dietary needs are met including avoiding known allergen risks and compliant with modified diets specified by speech pathologist according to International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework.

Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
Passionate about providing tasty food in line with a set menu and budget.
Able to work in a small team with the ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Have experience with IDDSI meal modification and aged care catering.
Consideration will be given to an experienced Cook.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
Current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) screening check or consent to obtain.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
