DG BOSS: Superintendent, Sr. Production (FN)
Under the supervision of the Building Trades Manager, the position is responsible for:
- Managing all the aspects of operation of different trades: mason, carpentry, painter, metal workers, welder, plumbing, locksmithing and engraving.
- Acts as primary production control Superintendent for all trades. Collects and coordinates look ahead schedules and organizes total ticket status for Annex 1502 trades.
- Assists scheduling and logistic aspects in the operation of Electrical & HVAC crews.
- Manages Local Developed Production (LDP) work orders. Provides briefings to management including Customers on status, makes weekly updates, and ensures man-hours, schedule and material budget for projects are within approval.
- Maintains records of efficiency for subordinates and training programs for technical and personal development to increase employee motivation, production and advanced potentials.
- Supervises carpenters, masons, and metal workers in the maintenance and repair of Structural components of facilities, corrosion control, and painting schedule. Assist as needed and during R&R times Superintendents in the maintenance of roads and the regarding of gravel roads.
- Assist as needed and during R&R times Superintendents in the washing and removal of rubber debris from the active runway.
- Assist as needed and during R&R Superintendents in the performance of Lightning Protection and Grounding assignments.
- Assists Superintendents and host for Technical Representatives in the performance of Elevator Maintenance and VTE assignments.
- Assist Superintendents in production control of Airfield Bash Cannon and work order assignments.
- Assist Superintendents in the performance of WHE and Crane Rail mechanical work and related corrosion control.
- Assist Superintendents in HVAC on duct work, temporary HVAC installs/demobs, and corrosion control.
- Ensure that work is being done in compliance with the approved production and schedule planning.
- Assists the project team by providing input to identify key success factors, timing of design and procurement deliverables, and establishing common work breakdown structures.
- Provides leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of services and is responsible for the execution of Maintenance services, quality, subcontractor performance, and maintenance cost.
- Evaluates Maintenance service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on scope.
- Monitors the implementation of safety orientations, indoctrinations and toolbox meetings and to provide coaching for improvement.
- Responsibilities include technical input for schedule creation, subcontracting strategy, subcontractor scopes of work, quality of construction, schedule adherence, budget containment, safety, selection of methods, systems, and techniques of construction, and labor cost control through daily attention to unit costs and adjustments in crew size or composition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, other departments within the organization, subcontractors, and report directly to Senior Management.
- Particular attention to details, good project management skills.
- Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
- Must be contract oriented and computer literate in Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to produce schedules for LDPs based on MS Tools for critical path.
- Must have a valid and be able to obtain Non-Pro or Professional driver’s license with restriction code at least 2
Preferred Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING
- Certified Journeyman level in at least two of the building trades is required.
- Formal Supervisory and Management Training is preferred.
EDUCATION:
- Must be at least High school, two-year Technical or Vocational course graduate is required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering (any discipline) or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least (7-10) years’ experience in Structural and Architectural, Mechanical, Building maintenance and repairs with 3 years as Lead man, Foreman or Supervisor of various trades.
- Experience shall include interior/exterior finishes, concrete works and metal fabrication and installation.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience using Maximo CMMS for work order management and maintenance scheduling.
- Proven supervisory and leadership experience managing multi-discipline maintenance teams.
- Prior experience supporting U.S. Government DoD contracts of comparable size, scope, and complexity
- (MACC, BOS, LOGCAP, or equivalent).
- Experience working at OCONUS and leading multinational workforces is highly desirable.
