The Opportunity:

Join NAVSEA 03S as a Senior DevOps Engineer supporting the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES), a mission-critical program that supports over 45,000 users executing naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments

  • Lead strategic monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building, packaging, and deployment processes

  • Design and implement cutting-edge automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoring systems

  • Champion and evangelize consistent DevOps approaches to improve all phases of the development process and ensure end-to-end quality

  • Provide strategic leadership for deployment/configuration management using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible

  • Establish enterprise-wide version control strategies and governance using GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS

  • Lead technical vision for network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations

  • Architect and enforce advanced security protocols and compliance measures

  • Develop innovative automation frameworks using Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++

  • Provide leadership role for the DevOps work group through specialized knowledge

  • Drive DevOps strategy, innovation, and technical excellence across the enterprise

  • Work on advanced, complex technical projects requiring state-of-the-art technical knowledge

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret clearance required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • At least 10 years of experience in DevOps engineering

  • Expert-level knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems

  • Extensive experience architecting solutions with AWS and other cloud services

  • Master-level programming and scripting abilities across multiple languages

  • Proven track record of technical leadership and innovation

Desired:

  • Experience with DoD/Navy programs

  • Expert-level SAFe certification or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)

  • Master-level containerization and orchestration expertise (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Advanced infrastructure as code architecture (Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Enterprise security and compliance leadership experience

  • Expertise in observability, monitoring, and site reliability engineering

  • Distributed systems and microservices architecture expertise

  • DevSecOps thought leadership and innovation experience

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$114,600-$252,100
