The Opportunity:
Join NAVSEA 03S as a DevOps Engineer supporting the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES), a mission-critical program that supports over 45,000 users executing naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain highly stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments
- Lead monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building, packaging, and deployment processes
- Architect and implement advanced automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoring systems
- Champion consistent DevOps approaches to improve all phases of the development process and ensure end-to-end quality
- Lead deployment/configuration management initiatives using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible
- Manage complex version control strategies using GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS
- Provide technical leadership for network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations
- Implement and enforce security protocols and compliance measures
- Develop sophisticated automation solutions using Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++
- Assume team lead role and mentor DevOps engineers
- Drive DevOps strategy and best practices across the organization
- Collaborate with senior leadership on DevOps initiatives and architecture decisions
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must have an active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- At least 7 years of experience in DevOps engineering
- Advanced knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems
- Extensive experience with AWS and other cloud services
- Expert-level programming and scripting abilities
- Proven leadership and team management experience
Desired:
- Experience with DoD/Navy programs
- Advanced SAFe certification
- Expert-level containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Advanced infrastructure as code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Deep security and compliance knowledge
- Experience with advanced monitoring and observability tools
- Microservices and distributed systems expertise
- DevSecOps leadership experience

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$98,500-$206,800
