Micron’s test engineering organization designs, develops, and delivers tester hardware and software to enable Micron’s industry leading memory and storage product portfolio! Software design and development within test engineering includes embedded software design, applications software, site reliability support, and test program development.  As a DevOps architect you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading all aspects of a DevOps framework within test engineering.  By embracing industry-standard, modern toolchains, processes, and software development technology we can empower a community of developers and enhance focus on test program content and outcomes for Micron’s technology and products.

What’s Encouraged Daily:

  • Advise software development strategy and roadmap for test engineering 
  • Ownership of software project approval process
  • Drive organizational change initiatives around software toolchains, processes, and DevOps framework
  • Approximately 50% of time will be on roadmap definition, execution, and project planning; 50% on individual contributor activities including technical pathfinding
  • Design/Develop/Administer solutions with Docker / Kubernetes.
  • Linux Administration using automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Develop & Debug in Python, Go, C++ as well as other languages.
  • Identify reliability and resiliency issues in sophisticated systems and work with developer teams to resolve them.
  • Develop relationships with other engineering teams to define developer and system infrastructure roadmaps.
  • Continuously look for opportunities for both personal, team, and platform improvement.

How To Qualify:

  • 10 years of experience in software development and/or software product management
  • Proven track record of driving large organizational objectives
  • Familiarity with debuggers, compilers, source control, and networking architectures.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, GCP )
  • Familiarity with Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters
  • Familiarity with high availability concepts and architectures
  • Passion for automation, toil reduction, and engineer enablement
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Experience with Jenkins or another CI/CD tool
  • Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) strongly preferred
  • Experience with SIG tester platforms strongly preferred
  • Prior people leadership strongly preferred
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required
