Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Calibration Engineer to support the development validation and optimization of propulsion system calibrations for next generation electrified and hybrid powertrains. This role plays a critical part in ensuring robust efficient and compliant system performance across torque control thermal management power modulation diagnostics and functional safety domains.
The ideal candidate has hands on experience calibrating EV or HEV propulsion systems and can operate comfortably across simulation vehicle testing and dyno environments while working closely with controls software hardware and systems engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop verify and refine propulsion system calibrations across key functional areas including power control torque control thermal management on board diagnostics and functional safety
Collect analyze and interpret system level and vehicle level test data using virtual simulation bench testing and in vehicle testing methods
Ensure calibration maturity and readiness at each program milestone through structured testing validation and documentation
Perform root cause analysis on calibration related issues and document findings corrective actions and resolutions
Utilize industry standard calibration and dataset management tools such as ETAS INCA Vector vCDM and Concerto
Interpret MATLAB Simulink control models and embedded C code to understand control strategies and support calibration traceability
Operate motor inverter dynamometer systems and execute structured test procedures to calibrate electric propulsion systems
Support cross functional teams by contributing calibration insights to software hardware and system level issue triage
Continuously validate and improve calibration datasets to meet quality timing and performance targets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mathematics Statistics or a related technical field
Five or more years of experience in powertrain development and or calibration with a focus on electrified or hybrid systems
Hands on proficiency with calibration and data acquisition tools such as ETAS INCA Vector vCDM and MATLAB
Strong skills in root cause analysis diagnostic data interpretation and test data evaluation
Ability to read and understand embedded control models including Simulink and C code
Preferred Qualifications
Experience calibrating electrified propulsion systems including motor and inverter controls
Knowledge of statistical methods and optimization techniques applied to calibration development
Familiarity with propulsion calibration test equipment and software such as ETA ZINCA Concerto and AVL Puma or similar dyno interfaces
Exposure to functional safety standards including ISO 26262 and diagnostic compliance protocols such as OBD II and UDS
Experience managing calibration work across multiple software releases and hardware configurations
