Position Summary:  As a Destination Services Representative, it is your goal to be recognized as the primary resource for destination, community and statewide information by visitors and locals alike. Your primary duties will be welcoming and assisting guests at the California Welcome Center, Ontario Mills. You will be assisting visitors from across the globe and it is your goal to make sure that every guest encounter is a positive one, that will leave a lasting impression on our visitors with genuine and thoughtful service.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintaining professional customer service etiquette and appearance with excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Assisting guests with a variety of services including trip planning, hotel booking, local and statewide information and Guest Services functions for Ontario Mills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Office, Excel, and general computer/printer functions
  • Ability to perform sales, answer calls, reports, and POS functions while multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ongoing expansion of knowledge in Local and Statewide tourism related information
  • Flexible schedule (Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays)
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with tenants, colleagues, and local businesses
  • Upkeeping professional appearance of CWC including disinfecting high-touch surfaces throughout the workday
  • Working Destination Services related GOCVB events off property when needed

Experience/Training/Education:

Required:  High School Diploma or GED

1+ years experience in Customer Service/Retail field

Preferred:  Previous experience in Tourism/Hospitality industry. Bilingual.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Tasks are performed with moderate supervision without assistance for 40% of the workday; pushing and pulling doors open, lifting, stooping, bending and lifting at least 40 lbs. Walking/standing for long distances for more than 70% of workday. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Must be able to pass the background.
