We are actively seeking a Desktop Analyst. Qualified candidates can work remotely in Malaysia.

Position Summary

As the primary IT representative at one of Rimini Street’s three major global convenience centers in Malaysia, Require 3-5 Years of Experience in the Desktop Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving technology excellence and operational efficiency. This position oversees all IT procurement for the location—including identifying vendors, evaluating solutions, and ensuring seamless delivery of IT assets. You will collaborate closely with local management and coordinate with IT leadership, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of IT Desktop Support based in India. The role demands a self-starter with proven ability to manage a broad spectrum of IT functions, from partnering with the network team on troubleshooting network and wireless issues, to working alongside the systems team for server-related concerns. Daily in-office presence is required, offering a significant opportunity for self-managed leadership. Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and a welcoming approach are essential, as you will serve as the go-to IT resource for all employees, ensuring their needs are met and the business remains productive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Malaysia Desktop Support
  • Maintain IT Assets for Malaysia Rimini office locations
  • Successful onboarding and offboarding of employees on start date
  • IT procurement for international offices, especially for workstations and accessories
  • Support local IT procurement and vendor coordination for the Malaysia region
  • Tickets follow up and ensure timely resolution within defined SLA
  • Keep the laptop image current as per the Rimini Street process
  • Provide Desktop level support in 24x7 support model on rotational bases
  • Create and maintain Active Directory user accounts, access, and groups.
  • Setting up workstation areas, such as computers, laptops, monitors, printers, Analog phones and VoIP equipment.
  • Troubleshooting all workstation related software including but not limited to: operating system, web browsers (IE, FF, Chrome), Microsoft Office (o365) Pulse Secure VPN client, Druva
  • VM setup and troubleshooting – Amazon Workspaces
  • Network troubleshooting (WiFi, Ethernet, NIC, Switch, etc.).
  • Provide telecom support for various devices (iPhones, Mitel and Analog phones).
  • Complying with all internal processes and procedures (ISO 27001, QMS 9000, and various related documentation).
  • Provide reports when required. 

Additional Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting with hardware & software procurement and inventorying
  • Assisting Network and Systems team during maintenance activities.
  • Physically check IT server/hub room during issues and coordinate with the Network and Systems team for the same.
  • Covering other IT members’ responsibilities when required
  • Server maintenance when required (patching, testing, backups, etc.)
  • Network maintenance when required
  • Off-hours support as requested
  • Track and analyze trends in Desktop Team requests, onboarding, offboarding and generate statistical reports

 Good to Have  

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of corporate culture.
  • Understanding of Working with a global team.
  • ITIL4 Certification

Skills  

  • Positive attitude, excellent work ethics, strong customer service and exceptionally strong troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent in both English and Malaysian local languages.
  • Knowledge of Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems
  • Knowledge on MAC
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux networks, firewalls, and Remote Access
  • Knowledge of Office365 and MS Outlook
  • Knowledge in VMs(Amazon Workspaces, vSphere)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and capacity to creatively solve problems are essential
  • Top level organizational and communication skills and ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.  Proven ability to self-manage and initiate IT projects for the business. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science
