Position Summary:

The Design Supervisor is the firm’s key creative design lead, responsible for ensuring that all visual work reflects and strengthens the Fried Frank brand. This senior designer oversees the team’s output across print and digital channels, approving and guiding work to ensure it is intentional and aligned with the firm’s visual standards.

This role is about more than visuals — sitting within the firm’s brand & creative team, the Design Supervisor works closely with the brand content writers to ensure that words and design work hand-in-hand. Every typographic, color and imagery choice should reinforce the message, elevate meaning and support clarity. They maintain meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every project, from print collateral to digital campaigns, meets the highest standards. Working collaboratively with the Design Operations Manager, who manages workflow and major projects, the Design Supervisor brings brand leadership, strategic oversight and design expertise, shaping the firm’s visual identity across all channels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary guardian of brand standards, ensuring all designs are consistent, purposeful and polished down to the smallest detail.
  • Guide and approve creative work across website content, events, thought leadership, advertisements, merchandise and printed collateral.
  • Ensure design and copy work seamlessly together, treating words as integral to the visual story.
  • Collaborate with the brand content team to integrate messaging and visuals in a cohesive, intelligent way.
  • Mentor designers, provide feedback and enforce high standards of typographic, visual and conceptual excellence.
  • Maintain the firm’s image library and source imagery.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional design experience, preferably in law firms, professional services, advertising agencies or large organizations.
  • Strong typographic, layout, imagery and content-sensitive design skills across print and digital media.
  • Proven ability to uphold and elevate visual standards, ensuring all creative output aligns with the brand ethos.
  • Demonstrated meticulousness in design execution, ensuring consistency, accuracy and refinement at all stages.
  • Experience managing projects, timelines and external vendors.

Education:

College degree preferred, preferably in graphic design, fine arts, print production or comparable field.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Art Direction & Graphic Design – Crafting compelling visual identities across print and digital platforms
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Mastery – Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator for high-impact design execution
  • Visual Strategy & Storytelling – Transforming concepts into cohesive narratives that engage and inspire
  • Vendor & Production Coordination – Managing end-to-end creative production with attention to detail and efficiency
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

$115,000$125,000 USD
