Job Description

The Vice President will lead direct client coverage responsibilities across Base and Precious Metals, driving revenue growth through derivatives, physical, leasing, and structured financing solutions. The VP will act as a senior relationship manager and revenue producer within RBC’s Global Markets franchise.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Client Coverage

  • Manage a portfolio of North American corporate and institutional metals clients (Mining, Producers, Refiners, Fabricators, Petrochems, Trade Houses, Institutional Investors).
  • Originate and execute hedging strategies including options, swaps, structured derivatives, and inventory financing solutions.
  • Drive growth in physical metals, leasing, rent deals, prepays, and structured transactions.
  • Expand wallet share within existing clients and onboard new-to-bank relationships.

Strategic Cross-Platform Collaboration

  • Partner with Corporate Banking, Structured Finance, and Trading to deliver integrated financing and risk solutions.
  • Leverage RBC’s lending relationships to originate metals-related transactions.
  • Work closely with global metals teams to provide seamless cross-border coverage.

Product Expertise

  • Maintain deep expertise in LME pricing, option structures, bespoke derivatives, and repo/financing structures.
  • Contribute to product innovation and structured solution development.

Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of metals sales/origination experience.
  • Demonstrated revenue production track record.
  • Strong relationships across North American metals sectors.
  • Advanced understanding of derivatives, financing, and physical metals markets.

Compensation Details:


The expected salary for this position is $225,000, based on factors such as experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, such as:

  • A discretionary bonus.
  • Benefits, including a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, and a paid time-off plan.
