Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the process for obtaining permits, licenses, and approvals from relevant authorities.
Oversee identification, tracking, and monitoring of land and property acquisitions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and authorities (including MTO, Region of Durham, City of Oshawa, and CPKC) throughout design reviews, permitting, and licensing.
Manage, review, and ensure timely receipt of design deliverables from the client’s designer.
Leads and promotes Ledcor safety culture on site, ensuring site safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded, and focuses on opportunities for improvement.
Facilitate and review temporary works design submissions from sub-consultants and subcontractors to ensure alignment with permanent design and construction needs.
Review design and technical documents for constructability, ensuring coordination with temporary works and contractor plans.
Identify key design risks and communicate them to the project management team.
Provide technical guidance and direction to operational staff and subcontractors.
Oversee distribution of design and technical documents, RFIs, and all related technical processes.
Ensure project deliverables comply with specified design and quality standards.
Prepare and submit required technical documentation and submittals.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with a general contractor in heavy civil design management or technical roles on large scale construction projects.
Completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering or a related field is required.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, work plans, and design coordination.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation abilities and stakeholder communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical and organizational strengths, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
