Job Title: Design Engineer-Fans and Compressor/Cold Section

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN  (Hybrid Schedule)

The Cold Section Component Design Engineer will work primarily with the components within the Fan and Compressor subsystems to design, produce, and test components and mechanical systems. In this role, the candidate ensures the component definition meets project requirements from concept through to demonstration test.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

• Create component requirements documents for owned hardware and hardware design concepts and perform trade studies to optimize hardware
• Support creation of detailed drawings and model-based definition and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware
• Provide limits for engine and rig testing and supporting testing including assessment of test results and tested hardware
• Develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions
• Create and review functional and physical interfaces and generate analysis requirements for components
• Provide input for component level risks and complete DFMEA and risk assessments for owned components.

Basic Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Engineering related degree with 4+ years of design experience, OR
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 2+ years of design experience, OR
• Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
• PhD in degree in Engineering
• To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

• Familiarity with fans and compressors component and sub-system design, including materials, dynamics, and aerothermal methods
• Fan and compressor airfoil and stator design, static structure design, seals and abradable liner design, and wheel design
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and the creation of limit stacks
• Experience using computer aided design tools such as NX
• Familiarity with engine assembly and testing
