We are seeking a visionary Design Director to lead with creative excellence and strategic impact. In this role, you will shape holistic brand language, drive innovation across global markets, and ensure cohesive, distinctive brand experiences at every touchpoint. As a senior leader, you will inspire teams, elevate design standards, and transform insights into powerful outcomes that strengthen brand equity and fuel business growth.

About the role

The Design Director, Otrivin will embed Design deeply into the Respiratory Health Global team with a holistic view of Design across all consumer touchpoints. This individual is responsible for all Design for Global Power Brand of Otrivin, leveraging all aspects of design at a strategic, tactical and operational level, working as a Design partner with marketing, ensuring functional excellence that delivers outstanding consumer experiences, and driving high Design quality and consistency at both the global level and in our local operating markets. The Design Director will also be part of a broader ‘design community of practice’ and will be expected to contribute to best practice sharing and capability building programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply design principles to all aspects of category marketing and branding (Visual Positioning, Holistic Brand Language, Master Designs, Guidelines).

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of meaningful, distinctive brand assets with best-in-class practices.

  • Deliver flawless, consistent brand experiences across every touchpoint: shopper, digital, product, packaging, claims, expert, and innovation.

  • Demonstrate design ROI by turning insights and data into impactful outcomes that strengthen brand equity.

  • Drive growth by aligning brand, category, and corporate strategies through design-led initiatives.

  • Harness human insight to create inclusive, innovative, and sustainable experiences that shape behaviour and transform everyday health.

  • Position the Design function as a strategic leader within global and local teams.

  • Monitor design consistency and quality across 40+ markets with regular audits and checks.

  • Collaborate with Supply and R&D on packaging, product development, and innovation.

Qualifications and skills

  • BA in Design, MBA/Masters in Design Management or related field

  • 15+ years of professional experience as a Design manager or similar position including at least 2 years of in-house design management

  • Experience in the FMCG industry

  • Experience in regulated categories requiring artwork approval by local authorities

  • Deep expertise in branding, design & innovation processes for brand, packaging, POS, advertising, digital, etc.

  • Skilled in qualitative & quantitative market/design research methodologies

  • Solid strategic thinking with strong commercial and marketing skills; experience managing design budgets across categories

  • Experience with managing global design agency partners on global design projects

  • Experience working directly with diverse, global teams and cultures

  • Fluency in English required
