The position of Deputy Director, Student Impact is instrumental in supporting the Director, Student Affairs Office in the strategic planning, management, and continuous improvement of key student development frameworks and central enabling services.
This is a key strategic leadership role, responsible for building the frameworks, digital systems, and communication strategies that define and support the experience for over 38,000 students.
Reporting to the Director, Student Affairs, you will lead a team in managing a diverse, high-impact portfolio.
Key responsibilities are:
Strategic Frameworks & Data Analytics
Lead the strategic development and implementation of university-wide frameworks, including the Achievements and Service Record (ASR).
Oversee the design and management of the Co-Curricular Learning (CCL) Framework for non-academic programmes.
Use data analytics from these systems to provide insights and drive decision-making in student services.
Digital Engagement & Communications
Oversee the SAO technology transformation and all marketing & communication strategies, enhancing the university's digital engagement with students.
Postgraduate Student Engagement
Develop and lead a strategic plan for Postgraduate (PG) student outreach and administration, designing tailored programmes for the PG community.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and manage a team, fostering a culture of high performance while overseeing all budget and governance matters for the assigned portfolios.
Represent SAO in university-level committees related to technology, data governance, and postgraduate life.
Key Requirements:
Degree in any discipline
At least 15 years of work experience in student affairs, higher education administration or related sectors, with at least 8 years in a supervisory and leadership roles. Proven leadership experience with a strong understanding of data governance, strategic planning policy development, and corporate functions.
Ability to conceptualize, design, and implement large-scale frameworks that shape student development and engagement.
Strong analytical skills with experience in leveraging data systems to inform decision-making and improve student services.
Experience in managing technology projects, digital platforms, or data-driven systems.
A background in marketing, communications is highly advantageous.
Excellent analytical, strategic, and stakeholder management skills.
A strong passion for nurturing and developing students, combined with the ability to mentor, motivate, and build high-performing teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
