Position Description:

The Departments of Anthropology and Geographic & Environmental Sciences seek an experienced Department Coordinator III to provide administrative, academic, and operational support in a shared‑services environment. This position plays a key role in supporting faculty, students, and departmental leadership while ensuring smooth day-to-day departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as office manager for both departments; oversee daily operations and provide administrative support to Department Chairs and faculty.

  • Manage departmental functions including office operations, facilities requests, room usage, inventory, keys/access, mail, and coordination with DPS.

  • Serve as primary contact for departmental inquiries and communications.

  • Collect and maintain data and confidential records for departmental reporting and academic support.

  • Oversee Federal Work‑Study student assistant hiring and coordination.

  • Coordinate faculty searches, special events, and departmental functions, including travel and logistics.

  • Serve as ProCard holder; manage purchases, Workday reallocations, and financial reporting for department Unit Business Manager, Intermediate (UBMI)

  • Support faculty grant and research expenditures in collaboration with UBMI.

  • Assist with annual course scheduling and ongoing academic planning.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$28.55

Target Compensation Minimum:

$19.03

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
