Your Opportunity:
Within the Supply Chain and Distribution Planning function based in the HQ in Milan, the Demand Planner will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products for specific categories managed by the Demand team. Will create and maintain forecast models for their channels/categories, incorporating business intelligence and forecast data with information gathered from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Replenishment analysts, and other sources. Basic forecast modelling is the responsibility of this position. Will also provide predictive analysis reports focusing on inventory reduction, and operational efficiency.
Your Contribution:
With a specific focus on the assigned categories, the Demand & Supply Planner, will support the end-to-end planning process, from forecast development to inventory analysis and cross-functional alignment.
Support in developing demand forecasts across different levels of aggregation, time horizons, channels and markets.
Analyse sales trends, demand drivers, forecast accuracy and key planning KPIs, highlighting risks, opportunities and deviations versus plan.
Contribute to the consensus forecasting process, working with Merchandising, Retail, Regions, Production and Finance to align forecasts, reorder plans and business assumptions.
Support inventory analysis, including replenishment needs, product phase-ins and phase-outs, regional requirements and stock rebalancing opportunities.
Partner with Inventory and Distribution teams on stock optimization projects, supporting analyses aimed at identifying inefficiencies, excess stock, coverage gaps and rebalancing opportunities.
Collaborate with Data Science to enhance forecasting models and planning inputs using advanced analytics and AI.
Collaborate on the development of reports and Power BI dashboards functional to planning activities, improving visibility on sales, stock, forecasts and performance.
Maintain and update planning systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and proper use of tools.
Progressively take ownership of specific categories, channels or planning processes under the guidance of the Senior Demand Planner.
Your Skills:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree
Previous experience in the same role of 2-4 years in Demand Planning (a plus if in Fashion environment)
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in statistics and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
Knowledge of some software related to demand planning (Board, Power BI, others)
Experience in a high volume, multi-location distribution environment
Experience with Business Intelligence reporting applications
Excellent verbal and written in Italian and English
Proficient knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and database applications
Strong analytical abilities and mathematical skills
Strong organizational and presentation skills to effectively interact with all teams and business levels
Good facilitation skills
Ability to learn quickly and to think creatively
