The Global Planning team are responsible for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and integrating our business to follow a single plan. As a Demand Planner you will be responsible for developing and cross-functionally aligning a demand forecast, this will include researching and analysing sales trends and other factors related to demand planning. In addition, and in support of our SIOP improvement journey you will co-ordinate key improvement initiatives in the Defence S&OP Transformation Programme. 

This role also supported the continues improvement of forecasting tools, processes and reporting. It has a clear view of the entire supply chain and specializes in developing forecast models that help determine the supply chain’s demands. This role is entrusted with the task of developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external supply chain planning partners.

What you will be doing:

You will oversee and own the demand plans for your nominated mature engine programme. This will involve 4 key activities.

  • create/assemble key planning assumptions
  • forecast demand
  • apply appropriate professional judgement for any appropriate manual adjustment in order to produce a suitable supply chain demand plan
  • communicate the business impact of your plans to key business decision makers.

You will oversee and/or implement process improvement initiatives, ensuring safety first. You will chair our planning systems Change Control meetings and foster effective relationships across RR Group to share planning best practices.

You will project manage and oversee the benefits management of a range of improvements initiatives. As Scrum Master you will drive pace and simplicity into our S&OP preparation and execution. You’ll also analysis data and create appropriate test models to help validate the impact of any changes introduced. 

You will lead our annual audit preparation and execution by ensuring key decisions and method changes introduced by improvements are documented further ensuring the whole team operate with control and precision. You will take responsible for ensuring our documented processes keep pace with and reflect the change introduce by S&OP Transformation.

  • Advanced numerical and data analytics skills
  • Advanced communication and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI or equivalent basic data transformations
  • Experience of working in an Agile programmes.
  • Experience of Product lifecycle management and Configuration management
  • Experience of Service Parts Managament (SPM)
  • Experience of Fleet Forecasting and Planning.
  • Experience of Order Intake and Sales Planning.
