As the Delivery Manager and Tower Lead for Data, you are responsible for leading the delivery of data-related services and solutions across the organization. This includes overseeing data governance, architecture, platforms, and analytics, while ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will manage cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Tower Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all data delivery activities within the tower.
  • Own and manage the delivery roadmap for data services, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate with other towers and business units to ensure integration and alignment of data initiatives.

Delivery & Project Management

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of data projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery frameworks, SLAs, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and resource planning effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
  • Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Support capability development, resource planning, and performance management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability.
  • Promote automation, standardization, and best practices in data delivery.

Technical & Domain Expertise:

  • Data Governance & Quality: Deep understanding of data policies, standards, lineage, and stewardship.
  • Data Architecture: Familiarity with data models, integration patterns, and metadata management.
  • Data Platforms & Tools: Experience with platforms such as Azure Fabric, Cognite Data Fusion, ADME, and others.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations (e.g., NORSOK, ISO 14224, OGUK, EPA, HSE).
  • Data Integration & ETL: Skilled in integrating data across legacy systems, historians, and cloud platforms.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): Ensuring consistency across assets, locations, materials, and vendors.
  • Analytics Enablement: Supporting advanced analytics, AI/ML, and digital twin initiatives.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking: Aligning data initiatives with business goals and long-term strategy.
  • Change Management: Driving adoption of new data practices and technologies.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Bridging IT, engineering, operations, and business units.
  • Communication Skills: Translating technical data concepts to field operators and executives.

Business Acumen:

  • Value Realization: Ensuring data initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Process Optimization: Identifying opportunities to streamline data-related processes.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Understanding internal/external customer needs and tailoring solutions (#OneTeam).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in delivery management within data or IT domains.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, governance, analytics, and engineering.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in agile and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or agile methodologies.
