Position Overview:

The Delivery Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the successful execution of multiple construction projects from inception through completion. This position ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while managing client relationships and leading cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Oversight

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for a portfolio of construction projects
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals and client expectations
• Develop and implement delivery strategies that optimize resources and mitigate risks
• Drive operational excellence across all projects under supervision

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients
• Build and maintain strong relationships that foster trust and repeat business
• Understand client objectives and address concerns proactively
• Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service that exceeds expectations

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop project directors, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a collaborative culture that promotes accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional development
• Build high-performing teams capable of delivering complex projects

Financial Performance

• Own P&L responsibility for assigned projects
• Ensure profitability targets are met or exceeded
• Review and approve budgets and monitor financial performance
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective actions when necessary
• Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting to senior leadership

Risk Management and Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across the portfolio
• Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations and building codes
• Monitor contractual obligations and company policies
• Implement quality assurance processes that maintain the highest construction standards

Operational Excellence

• Drive process improvements and implement best practices across project delivery functions
• Establish KPIs and monitor performance metrics
• Utilize data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with internal departments including estimating, design, procurement, and construction operations
• Collaborate with external partners, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities
• Facilitate seamless project execution through effective communication
• Manage expectations across all stakeholder groups

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field required, Master's degree or MBA preferred

• Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in construction project delivery

• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously

• Proven track record of delivering complex construction projects valued at $50M+ on time and within budget

• Experience across various project types and delivery methods

• ​Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, building systems, and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Memberships are an advantage.
• High calibre team leadership skills, managing multiple nationalities on a major programme.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with a fluent proficiency in English.
