We are looking for a self-motivated, multi-talented individual to provide the necessary technical experience to coordinate, design, develop, implement, and maintain a large database system. Development will include providing critical data reporting to the who’s who of the Hollywood entertainment industry. This position will be located in Toronto, ON.


Key Responsibilities
•    Perform database design, modeling, and implementation of new databases both clustered and non-clustered environments on Microsoft platforms including MS SQL Server, and MS SQL Server hosted on AWS RDS.
•    Will be responsible for writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures and/or triggers, analyzing and optimizing queries including unit testing.
•    Expertly create, maintain and support ETL processes for existing and future data sources.
•    Performs database design and integration of systems, including client/servers’ communication and web services.
•    Data analysis and data modelling, using Tableau, SSRS, and Power BI.
•    Provide production database administration and support integration with development members and third parties during the application development lifecycle.
•    Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper usage of data in tables and various support tools, such as database dictionaries.
•    Provide support of mission critical systems and serves as primary point of contact for coordination and resolution of SQL Server issues with Microsoft.
•    Design and develop web applications using Python/Flask, JavaScript/React stacks in collaboration with UI/UX developers. 
•    Maintain and enhance legacy applications built with PHP.
•    Write clean, maintainable, scalable code, and perform unit and integration testing.
•    Use version control systems such as Git for collaborative development and code management.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:
Technical expertise includes:
•    Database expertise including MS SQL Server, SQL Queries, clustering technologies both clustered and non-clustered environments.
•    Experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL a plus.
•    Hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, and S3.
•    Proven background in web technologies including complete definition from infrastructure to software technologies.
•    Experience in HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Visual Studio, API and git.
•    Platform expertise including Windows Server. Experience on Linux would be a plus.
•    Web server technologies including IIS (ISAPI components and filters) with Apache and Tomcat a plus.
•    Experience in ASP .NET, C#, Java, C++ would be a plus.
•    Proven experience with database monitoring and tuning tools.
•    Experience in maintaining high-reliability web deployments (geographical distribution, server farms, DNS management).
•    Minimum 5+ years of database development with experience in database management systems including MS SQL Server, implementing data warehouse projects/programs, including both logical designs and physical implementation.
•    BS degree or higher in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering.
•    Should be able to effectively document all processes, designs, and data flows.
•    Ability to provide database technical leadership and support to management, peers, and developers. Solid troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to reach innovative options quickly required.
•    Ability to communicate, in both oral and written form, effectively to upper level management and peer engineers internally, and externally to customers with various backgrounds either technical staff or marketing personnel.
•    Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
