Job Description Summary

The Data Validation Analyst ensures the accuracy and utility of wealth-related data. This role is responsible for reviewing, validating, and maintaining key wealth indicators, primarily sourced from Blackbaud WealthPoint, by manually reviewing and confirming data that automated systems cannot reliably match. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Analyst will contribute to prospect research, prospect management, and analytics efforts. This role will also support data acquisition and data integration projects - imports and exports to/from Blackbaud CRM with a focus on suspect, prospect, and donor including biographical, attitudinal, interest, and ancillary wealth data.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Researches and validates wealth indicators such as real estate, business ownership, nonprofit affiliations, private foundation affiliations, and past charitable giving using WealthPoint data.
  • Independently confirms or rejects automated data matches using contextual reasoning and cross-referenced information.
  • Leads and executes manual wealth screenings for targeted suspect/prospect populations based on requirement. 
  • Identifies and cleans inaccurate or outdated biographical, contact and employment related information in partnership with Records and Development teams, understanding related business rules and processes.
  • Supports with importing and exporting structured data to and from the Blackbaud CRM system with Brightvine Data Link.
  • Partners with Records office to identify high-value populations for data acquisition opportunities.
  • Reviews low-capacity-rated records to identify data mismatches with professional titles, high-wealth locations or other non-traditional wealth indicators.
  • Works closely with the Executive Director, Analytics with managing wealth data and managing student workload for manual wealth screenings. 
  • Supports Associate Director, Prospect Development with managing data integrity checks and related tasks. 
  • Supports the Prospect Research Specialist with prospect research efforts and maintaining wealth data.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school degree required.
  • Strong analytical and judgement skills in working with textual and numerical data.
  • Demonstrated experience in online research and data quality control.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a meticulous approach to data validation.
  • Conscientiousness, patience, curiosity, and self-motivation to work independently.
  • Respect for the dignity and abilities of all people.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exposure to or interest in fundraising, prospect research, or data governance.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud or similar CRM/fundraising data systems is a plus.
  • SQL Server, REST/SOAP API, SFTP and other data transfer technologies are desired.

Accountabilities:

Sedentary work primarily involving sitting/standing; communicating with others to exchange information; repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. No adverse environmental conditions expected.
