Job Summary:

The Data Specialist is responsible for collecting, validating, managing, and analyzing organizational data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibility. This role supports operations and strategic initiatives by generating actionable insights, maintaining reporting tools, and ensuring compliance with organizational and industry data standards.

Essential Functions: 

  • Collect, clean, and validate provider roster data that drives internal and external reporting.
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support decision-making across departments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with data governance policies, privacy regulations, and security standards.
  • Oversee implementation of new contracts into the analytics platform; manage monthly data migrations and integrations.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights; recommend corrective actions or opportunities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on the BSMH CIN (Clinically Integrated Network) provider networks, supporting financial analysis, performance reporting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure provider network considerations are integrated into forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Provide expertise to validate data accuracy, support contract modeling, and inform leadership.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

Licensure/Certification:

  • None

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, analysis, or related field.
