About the Role 

As a Data Science Intern on the Life Analytics Team, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that help improve how health and life data are understood and used. You’ll work with both structured and unstructured Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to create clear, reliable datasets that support research and analytics. This role offers hands-on experience, opportunities to grow your technical skills, and the chance to collaborate with a supportive, mission-driven team.

Location: On-site in Alpharetta, GA. Relocation assistance is not provided.  
Program Dates: May 18 – July 24, 2026 
Eligibility: Undergraduate students expected to graduate by May 2027. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clean, analytics‑ready datasets through data extraction, standardization, and normalization.

  • Explore EHR data to identify trends and key factors related to health and mortality outcomes.

  • Support translation of clinical data into fields relevant to insurance and risk assessment.

  • Assist in developing insights that guide life analytics and risk modeling.

Requirements

  • Be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, actuarial science, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2027. 

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling.

  • Display familiarity with statistical or machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, random forests). Interest in NLP or LLMs is helpful, but not required.

  • Possess knowledge or curiosity about healthcare data or life/mortality studies is a plus

  • Exhibit solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with an openness to learning new tools and methods.

  • Be able to collaborate effectively in a team of developers and scientists.   

  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings and share ideas clearly.
