Data Intern

Requirements 

• Currently studying for an Undergraduate or Master’s degree to be received in 2027 (2:1 minimum predicted) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline (UK or international equivalent) 

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Python or R 

• Fluent business English, numerate, strong interpersonal skills 

• Permission to work in the UK 

Our Group Data function at a glance 

As an ambitious and growing specialist global insurer, Hiscox has been investing in modern data and analytics capabilities in recent years. We are at the beginning of an exciting journey to set up our Group Data Function to implement our Data Strategy and turn our Data and Analytics capabilities into true growth enablers. A key part of our Group Data Function is the Group Functions Data Hub, with responsibility for delivering data and analytics services to Business Functions including Group Underwriting, Group Claims, Group Marketing and others.

• Make a real contribution to your team, working on challenging projects and developing a broad understanding of the wider function 

• Partner across the business, building professional relationships and interacting with senior stakeholders from the start 

• Join training sessions to deepen your understanding of our business and industry 

• Collaborate on a group intern research project and present your recommendations to senior stakeholders
