In this role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining robust data governance frameworks that ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility. Your work will enable reliable, data-driven decision-making across the organization, with a strong focus on our SAP and Databricks ecosystems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead the Data Catalog Service: Own the full lifecycle of the Data Catalog, aligning strategy and operations with the Hitachi Energy Data Supermarket vision to deliver self-service, trusted, and governed data products across all business units
Drive Adoption & Learning: Design onboarding, training, and support programs to empower employees to “learn by doing” with catalog, data lineage, and quality tools (e.g., Erwin DI/DQ)
Integrate & Automate Data Platforms: Ensure seamless integration of the Data Catalog with SAP, Data Lake, Azure, Databricks, and other platforms, leveraging automation for high-quality, AI-ready data products
Foster a Data Community: Collaborate with data owners and users to define metadata standards, build best practices, and nurture a vibrant community of data champions
Monitor & Improve Service: Track performance, user satisfaction, and adoption; continuously enhance catalog features and evangelize the Hitachi Energy Data Supermarket vision
Your Background
Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field; 3+ years in service management or data governance; hands-on experience with enterprise Data Catalog solutions (preferably Erwin DI/DQ, QUEST, Collibra, Alation, Azure Purview, Informatica); strong understanding of metadata, data lineage, and governance frameworks; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud integration; knowledge of data privacy and compliance (GDPR, EU Data Act); relevant certifications (ITIL, DAMA, DCAM); familiarity with automation/CI-CD workflows; community-building experience
