Goods & Services is looking for a Data Governance Engineer to design, build, and maintain the data collection, storage, and analysis infrastructure that supports our organization's data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will focus on creating efficient data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow, and preparing data for analysis while adhering to data governance policies and best practices. This role also involves expertise in using data visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI to empower stakeholders with actionable insights.
What you’ll do:
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow from multiple sources to storage and analytics systems.
- Automate data collection, transformation, and delivery processes to support real-time and batch processing requirements.
- Develop and maintain data storage solutions, including data lakes, warehouses, and cloud-based platforms.
- Monitor and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of data infrastructure.
- Implement robust mechanisms to validate and ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data throughout its lifecycle.
- Work with stakeholders to define and enforce data governance policies and standards.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Integrate data governance practices with existing systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
- Create detailed technical documentation for data pipelines, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for data-related issues to ensure business continuity.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in designing and managing data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica).
- Solid knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI, including the ability to create dynamic dashboards and actionable reports.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including tools like S3, Databricks, or BigQuery.
- Understanding of data governance principles, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience with Big Data tools and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
- Certifications in data governance or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, CDMP).
- Experience working in agile environments and using CI/CD tools.
