We are hiring a Data Engineer  
Hybrid working model - Novi Sad or Belgrade office 

 

Role Description: 

The Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains data pipelines and transformations that power the data platform. Working under the guidance of the Senior Data Engineer, this role is responsible for delivering reliable, well-tested data products that meet agreed data contracts and are fit for consumption by downstream applications and analytics. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Build and maintain data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and output layers 

  • Implement transformations that apply business rules and produce clean, governed datasets 

  • Ensure pipelines are performant, observable, and maintainable  

  • Write and maintain data quality checks and pipeline tests 

  • Validate that outputs conform to data contracts and business definitions 

  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues identified in development or production 

  • Adhere to agreed engineering standards, naming conventions, and code review practices 

  • Ensure work is documented, version-controlled, and maintainable by the wider team 

  • Work closely with the Senior Data Engineer on technical direction and pipeline design 

  • Collaborate with the Data Consultant to understand data definitions, lineage, and business rules 

  • Engage with the Integrations Engineer and application teams where data outputs need to be consumable via API 

 

Your Profile:  

  • 3-6 years of data engineering experience 

  • Strong Spark SQL skills and hands-on experience building data pipelines 

  • Experience with at least one data transformation framework (e.g. DBT, DLT, Spark SQL, or similar)

  • Understanding of data modelling concepts (dimensional, relational, or entity-based) 

  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and engineering best practices 

  • Comfortable working within a structured, standards-driven delivery environment 

 

Plus if you have: 

  • Had exposure to data quality frameworks or testing tooling 

  • Experience in regulated industries or enterprise-scale data environments 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipeline
