Join AutoProff – Build the Data Foundations of European Automotive Tech!🚗📊
We’re looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our growing Empower platform team, based out of our Vejle headquarters or Copenhagen office.
At AutoProff, data is at the heart of how we grow and operate. As part of the Empower team, you’ll help build and evolve the core data platform that powers everything from operational insights to customer-facing analytics. You’ll work closely with platform engineers, analysts and product teams to enable a modern, self-service, scalable data ecosystem.
We are transitioning from legacy BI systems to a modern, distributed data platform. This role is key to shaping the architecture, pipelines and tooling that enable trusted, observable and compliant data flows across the company. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that domain teams can produce, access and act on data efficiently and securely, without relying on central bottlenecks.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines, orchestrations and event-based data flows
- Support the migration to a data mesh model with embedded domain ownership
- Develop and maintain platform-level tooling for monitoring, governance and self-service access
- Collaborate with analytics, BI and product teams to ensure data is reliable, reusable and observable
- Partner with engineering teams to embed sound data practices into service design and operations
- Contribute to the technical roadmap for the AutoProff Data Platform together with platform leadership
The must-have skills
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for building, testing and maintaining data pipelines and transformations
- Experience working with orchestration and pipeline frameworks such as Airflow (or similar tooling)
- Solid knowledge and practical understanding of AWS services and best practices (e.g. S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Athena, Kinesis, Redshift)
- Strong understanding of data governance, security and privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR, access controls)
- Comfortable working with event-driven architectures and structured data across microservices
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (CDK or Terraform) and CI/CD practices
- Ability to collaborate across teams and clearly explain complex data flows and architectural decisions
Nice-to-have skills
- Experience implementing data mesh or decentralised data platform architectures
- Familiarity with BI tools and embedded dashboards (e.g. QuickSight, icCube, Qlik)
- Practical experience working with dbt/sqlmesh or similar analytics framework
- Hands-on experience with data observability, lineage and quality monitoring (e.g. DataHub or Great Expectations)
- Experience with real-time data setups (e.g. Snowplow, TimescaleDB)
We’re eager to hear from you. If this sounds like a great match and sparks your interest, don’t wait, apply today!
