Mission Brief
Your main objective will be to work hands-on with our Data Platform, which consolidates all structured and unstructured test, flight, and process data from across the company. Your work will empower data-driven decisions in various departments and enable us to generate valuable insights from cross-departmental data.
More specifically, you will:
Build modern, scalable, and high-performance solutions for our engineering data platform.
Develop and deploy efficient ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load a large amount of data from diverse sources.
Contribute to data modeling and architecture decisions to ensure consistency, availability, low latency, and long-term maintainability of the data landscape.
Ensure data quality through validation processes and adherence to data governance policies.
Provide observability for the Data Platform processes, enabling a quick reaction to any disruptions.
Author technical and user documentation.
Guide less experienced engineers by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Who you are and what you have
Highly proficient with batch and streaming data processing
Hands-on experience with OLAP, DeltaLake and Iceberg storage frameworks
Excellent SQL proficiency for data querying, transformation, and analysis
Understanding of time series data and signal processing (e.g., sampling rates, decimation, frequency domains, and data integrity)
Solid understanding of data architectures (lakehouse, warehouse, data streaming, medallion pattern)
Practical experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, Python and DataFrame handling
Experience with Data Platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake)
Nice to Have (Optional):
Experience with Python query engines (e.g. polars, duckdb)
Experience with Kafka and Kafka related technologies (e.g. Apache Flink)
Understanding of infrastructure, cloud services and network
