About the Role

Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts II are our key SME resources that perform the reviews of AI outputs to aid in the development of our AI tools. At the outset of projects they are expected to work with other DDE team members, the product team and the data science team to plan the necessary testing work, including drafting initial prompt sets and ensuring there is sufficient time to complete the necessary review phases. They utilise their knowledge and experience of the Law in one, or ideally several, practice areas to provide guidance on the type of work done by lawyers in practice to ensure that our prompt sets accurately reflect the work that lawyers do.

The role is to be based in Auckland.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high quality up-to-date practical legal content.
  • Prepare and maintain practically-focused content as well as practical resources for our popular Practical Guidance product that is Australia’s most established and trusted ‘how-to’ of legal practice.
  • Day to day their work focuses on conducting detailed reviews of the outputs of AI tools, rating the responses and providing detailed feedback to the data science team to ensure incremental improvements to be made
  • Localising existing prompt sets and drafting new prompt sets for AI review projects
  • Working with DDE team membersand Manager to plan the schedule for AI review phases
  • Use legal experience to review AI tool outputs
  • Provide detailed feedback to the data science team to enable ongoing development of tools
  • At times they may be require to supervise, and review, the work of more junior colleagues, including DDE I experts.
  • Participate in or contribute to in-market activities (eg masterclasses, webinars, customer feedback sessions).

Requirements

  • 3+ years PQE
  • Australian qualified lawyer
  • Recent experience in an Australian mid to top tier law firm or in-house counsel role
  • A recent practice background as a Commercial lawyer including commercial contracts, business structures, franchising, purchase and sale of business, trusts, government procurement and sanctions.
  • Excellent communication and plain-English writing skills
  • Aptitude for building and fostering relationships with a range of diverse clients and local and international stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
