Our commitment to excellence has earned us a reputation for being at the forefront of the industry. We are currently seeking a skilled OSI PI / Data Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Role/ Position Overview: OSI PI Data Analytics Engineer with primary responsibility for the lifecycle management of the site OSI Pi Historian System and the development and implementation of analytics. The role involves gathering data from automation systems, ensuring accurate data collection, and presenting this data through reports and analytics for operational insights and decision-making. The OSI PI Data Analytics Engineer will work data end user stakeholders and be seated in a multidisciplinary team, which includes both IT professionals and controls systems / automation engineers. The role is primarily site based.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The chosen candidate would typically be responsible for the following activities (but not exclusively):

  • Develop custom reports and dashboards using Power BI, PI Vision, PI DataLink, to provide actionable insights.
  • Manage and maintain the integration of PI systems with various automation systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and enterprise systems.
  • Oversee routine maintenance of the PI servers, interfaces, and data archives.
  • Implement data analytics strategies to enhance process understanding and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively identify and manage the implementation of system improvements.
  • Liaise with end user departments to gain an understanding of reporting and analytics requirements and set up data collection from the various sources, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Work closely with end users to understand their data requirements and ensure that PI system outputs meet their needs.
  • Interface regularly and provide formal and informal updates to the Site Automation manager.
  • Lead end-user training sessions and provide system support for the Power Bi and OSI PI systems
  • Collaborate with IT and OT teams to maintain cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Qualifications/skills and work experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience implementing and supporting OSI PI & or data projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in PI Historian systems.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Proficiency in PI System components (PI Server, PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, PI DataLink).
  • Experience in GxP environments and understanding of regulatory compliance in the life sciences is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent problem solving, presentation and communication skills. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
