About This Opportunity 

Join our Information Management and Insights team within Advancement and Community Engagement, where we manage the systems and data that power UQ’s advancement activities and support the transition to the new ACE CRM.

As Data Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality data, reporting and analysis that supports meaningful alumni engagement and philanthropic outcomes across both central advancement and faculties/institutes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to data-driven strategies that enhance UQ’s global impact.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support CRM transition and BAU data operations, including bulk data updates, data integrity checks, documentation, and assisting Advancement Services during peak periods.

  • Coordinate and deliver ad hoc and scheduled data/reporting tasks, effectively managing workload while maintaining strong customer and team relationships.

  • Develop reports, dashboards and automated processes using tools such as Raiser’s Edge, Crystal, Power BI and VisualCron, with a focus on user self-service.

  • Extract, verify, analyse and interpret data using query tools, SQL and platforms like KNIME, Power BI and Excel to provide accurate insights.

  • Provides support for all Advancement Services operations during peak periods for the portfolio, including support for Gift Administration and Prospect Development teams.

About You

  • A degree in Information Technology, Statistics, Computer Science or a related area with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant technical experience and or education / training.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, and proven ability to develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with a range of clients and internal stakeholders in a complex organisational environment.

  • Self-motivated, work independently and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines in a multi-faceted team.

  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and reporting by applying knowledge of the business context.

  • Experience using a coding language (e.g., SQL, R, Python) to extract, manipulate and combine data.

  • Experience using various tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel) for creating reports and dashboards for data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated understanding of data structures and concepts via the ability to query, filter, manipulate and combine data and verify and accurately interpret results.

  • Experience working within higher education Advancement, or the not-for-profit sector is desirable.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
