About the Role

You will join as our Founding AI Product Manager. You'll work closely with the founder, engineers, and customers to define what Soff builds and why. You'll own the product end-to-end — from how our AI agents process RFQs and match part numbers to how quotes flow back through legacy ERP systems. You'll be the connective tissue between deep customer workflows and engineering execution.

What you'll do

• Own the product roadmap for Soff's AI agents — autonomous context-aware conversation, part matching, quote generation, and ERP sync
• Work directly with industrial customers to deeply understand their operations, then translate that into clear product bets
• Define how our AI agents handle edge cases, exceptions, and multi-step workflows — and design feedback loops that make the system smarter over time
• Set prioritization and sequencing across customer requests, technical debt, and new capabilities to maximize impact
• Own the ERP integration roadmap — decide which systems to support next and work with engineering to build repeatable integration patterns
• Partner with engineering on LLM pipeline decisions, part number matching accuracy, and agentic email processing reliability
• Ship. Constantly. We're a small team and you'll have enormous leverage on what gets built

What we want

• Anything it takes mentality. Together, we do what it takes to win customers and build the right product.
• Builder, not bureaucrat. You've shipped real products, ideally from scratch. Founder experience or first-PM-at-a-startup experience is a strong plus.
• Technically fluent. You're not writing production code, but you can read it, reason about LLM pipeline tradeoffs, and hold your own in architecture discussions. Technical degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Domain-curious. You're excited — not intimidated — by learning ERP systems, fastener encoding schemes, and B2B distribution workflows. You find unglamorous industries fascinating when there's a massive problem to solve.
• Sweats the details. Product quality in our space means getting part numbers right, handling ERP edge cases, and never dropping a customer's order. You care about the last 5%.
• Thrives in ambiguity. We're a startup. Many things change, pretty dramatically, very quickly. You find that energizing.
• Excellent communicator. You can talk to a family-owned fastener distributor in the morning and whiteboard system architecture with engineers in the afternoon.
