You will collaborate with product and service teams to identify important business questions and define analytical approaches, using experiments and advanced data techniques to deliver meaningful outcomes. Responsibilities include developing and coding software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse large datasets from multiple different sources. You will report to the Team Lead, Continuous Improvement and offers a hybrid work schedule based in Mequon, WI.
Your Responsibilities:
- Hands-on SQL expertise (advanced joins, window functions, CTEs, performance tuning, query optimization) for large-scale datasets across cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Databricks proficiency: build and maintain scalable data pipelines, using Databricks Notebooks for collaborative development, experimentation, and versioning (e.g., Git integration).
- Experience building data ingestion and transformation workflows from diverse sources (relational databases, APIs, cloud storage, enterprise systems) and defining robust Dataflows for repeatable, secure processing.
- Design reusable data models, manage data lineage, and document pipelines to support reporting.
- Demonstrated capability to identify insights from large data/metadata; interpret and communicate findings to product, service, and business leaders.
- Familiarity with data governance standards and best practices (data quality rules, access controls, metadata management, compliance).

- Strong background in data architecture: CDC patterns, medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, and designing dataflows for scale and reuse.
- Hands-on experience integrating with APIs (REST/Graph), cloud storage (e.g., ADLS/S3), and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP/CRM) including authentication/authorization patterns.
- Knowledge of data lineage tools and metadata catalogs (e.g., Unity Catalog, Purview) and experience implementing data quality frameworks (expectations, monitoring, alerting).
- Experience with orchestration tools and scheduling (e.g., Databricks Workflows, ADF, Airflow) and implementing CI/CD for notebooks and Power BI assets.
- Familiarity with security and compliance considerations (RBAC, RLS/OLS, encryption at rest/in transit, PII handling, auditability).
- Proficiency in Python (for PySpark and data tooling) and DAX/M (Power Query) to build efficient transformations and semantic models.
- Experience creating governed, reusable semantic layers and dataset versioning to support self-service analytics.
- Prior involvement in establishing data governance councils, standards, and best practices across an organization.
