The Division of Enrollment Management (EM) comprises the Office of Admission, the HUB, University Registrar’s Office, Student Accounts, Student Financial Aid, Enrollment Systems, Marketing & Communication, Office of International Education, and EM Research & Analytics. All of these areas work together to provide students, families and the campus community with student support and administrative services from the time of recruitment, to enrollment and all the way through graduation.
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of EM Research & Analytics, the Data Analyst will be responsible for defining and managing the implementation of various data, reporting and analytical products and efforts. The Data Analyst ensures the successful completion of reporting and analytical projects and provides status updates to relevant stakeholders along the way.
The successful candidate should have experience with:
- Data modeling
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Testing & validation
- Report writing
- Coordinating user acceptance testing
- Data analytics
- Technical writing & documentation Functional specifications
- Data visualization
Primary responsibilities for this role include advanced query writing, data model design, maintaining documentation, producing intuitive self-service reports and/or data visualizations, and coaching associate data analysts. The successful candidate must understand and evaluate compliance with internal data governance as well as relevant regulations including but not limited to Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). This role will also develop and implement technical documentation that will enhance the data maturity of the division and the university.
Core responsibilities include:
- Create reports and dashboards with the corresponding query logic to support operational analysis and quality control, while supporting other data needs of EM leadership & campus partners.
- Serve as the functional liaison to our business analysts and system managers in Enrollment Systems.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend reporting & analytical products/solutions (third-party or internally developed) to create efficiencies for Enrollment Management and/or improve the student experience and engagement with data with the broader campus community.
- Maintain documentation for data, reporting and analytical products.
- Actively participate in campus-wide data initiatives involving the Data Collaborative, Data Governance Office and Community of Practice.
- Support cross functional areas within Enrollment Management including the Office of Admission, University Registrar’s Office, The HUB, Student Financial Services (Financial Aid and Student Accounts), Office of International Education, EM Marketing & Communications and Enrollment Systems.
- Collaborate with strategic campus partners such as Institutional Effectiveness & Planning, Computing Services, University Central Marketing and key stakeholders in each College/School.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within an Enrollment Management or related unit
- Working understanding of database systems, preferably Snowflake environment
- Solid experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Established experience with Tableau or Power BI preferred
