POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data Governance Specialist in the Data Quality area is crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of data across the organization. Your contributions will directly impact the organization’s ability to maintain high data quality standards, supporting effective decision-making processes and opening the door to automation.

As a Data Governance Specialist, your mission is to implement data quality tools and techniques, monitor critical data, and support the prioritization and correction of data issues. You will develop data quality by design standards and provide training and support for Data Guardians within the organization.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Implement the process to identify, manage and report on enterprise Data Issues.

  • Collaborate with Data Stewards and Digital Product and Platform Managers to develop action plans for data quality improvement.

  • Implement processes and tools to monitor critical data quality across sources.

  • Track progress towards data issue resolution and provide support to ensure their timely resolution based on impact (ROI – Return on Investment). 

  • Establish data quality by design standards to promote best practices in data management.

  • Provide training and support for Digital Product and Platform Managers and Data Guardians to enhance their capabilities in increasing and controlling data quality.

  • Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.

  • Report on data quality metrics and trends to senior management.

CONTRIBUTION TO DATA GOVERNANCE

This role ensures that data quality standards are established and maintained, promoting reliable and accurate data management practices across the organization.

CONTRIBUTION TO AI GOVERNANCE

By ensuring high data quality, this role supports AI governance initiatives, enabling organizations to build and deploy AI models based on trustworthy and accurate data.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data quality management or data governance roles.

  • Familiarity with data quality assessment tools (Collibra, DQ labs, PowerBI, etc.)  and methodologies.

  • Experience in developing and implementing data quality standards (SQL).

  • Knowledge of data management best practices and frameworks.

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) and proven ability in oral and written communication.
