About The Role

Management of the customs and logistic process for the environmental laboratory, applying properly the customs legislation, logistic regulations, complying with the customs and logistical formalities of the corresponding region.

Your Team

This position does not have direct reports. This position will have dotted-line responsibilities with logistic technician and logistics analyst positions.

What You Will Do

  • Imports: Review information from brokers to consolidate Laboratory tracking numbers, clear customs by interaction with compliance team, validate ground transportation, close out shipment request in web system with proper documentation.
  • Exports: Follow up shipment request by the creation of documents (Proforma, packing list, tracking number) get compliance instructions and arrange transportation.
  • Arrange transportation for long term storage and maintain traceability of shipments.
  • Authorize miscellaneous LAB folio.
  • Maintain logistics process according to requirements of legal entity, IMMEX program and regulations.
  • Interface, consult, and support contact with brokers, customs, and compliance.
  • Supports physical testing of components by purchasing supplies and services, gathering parts, and assisting with a wide variety of duties, maintain stock level.
  • Responsible to perform other tasks as business needs require or as assigned by management.
  • Optimize transportation: reduce cost, deadlines, and delivery schedules.
  • Following Harman competencies for everyday performance (Leadership, Change Orientation, Collaboration, Judgement, and Results Driven)

What You Need:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Logistics or customs department.
  • Knowledge in the law and regulations in International Commerce, Incoterms, and transportation modes.
  • Deal with customs brokers, carriers (local and international), forwarders.
  • Analysis capacity.
  • Experience with IMMEX, CTPAT and OEA.
  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office, Power BI, SAP and web based software tools (JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Proven ability to be flexible, prioritize and manage multiple projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, provide direction, train and direct a small team.
  • Fluent in English (written & verbal)

What is Nice to Have

  • 4 - 7 years automotive experience.  Additional education can be substituted for experience.
  • Prior experience with ISO17025, ISO 14001, IATF 16949.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
  • Be willing to work in an office in Queretaro, Mexico

Other:

  • The employee must have compliance with the IATF16949 standard, the specific requirements of clients, the Quality Management System (BMS and QMS Apps) and the Environmental Management System according with ISO 14001 standard.
