Job purpose
The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) is part of the Quality team, supporting the various departments. The CQE helps to introduce quality checks for new products and regularly supports continuous improvement and problem-solving activities within the various departments. The CQE holds a customer, canner and supplier facing role and is the point-of-contact for responding to concerns or requests relating to quality.
Principle accountabilities
• Comply with EHS rules, implement relevant objective.
Drive improvement to deliver high Process quality:
• Handle internal (NCR) / external (customer concern) quality issue to meet customer requirements and follow up actions on time.
• Maintain SPM and specification documents related with Quality function to ensure the product quality meet customer requirement.
• Prepare quality report model for new project part.
• Work with MOC initial team to assess risk of change in Quality function.
• Monitor and optimise scrap rate to reduce poor quality cost.
• Timely response to product quality concerns communicated by external customers (customer concerns) or the internal manufacturing groups (supplier concerns).
• Work out/track new introduced project timing plan to ensure PPAP is carried out on time and prepare control plan etc, documents related to quality function.
• Conduct batch review to find quality risk in advance or per customer requirement.
• Assist the Account Manager, NPI teams and the Plant Quality Managers with tasks relating to the New Product Introduction process.
Customer quality to enhance customer satisfication:
• Prepare and submit PPAP document package according to customer requirement.
• Independently prepare for customer audits and follow up actions on time.
• Write the Specification Standards, Sampling Plans, Marking and Labelling for customers.
• Prepare Specification proposal presentations where appropriate.
• Perform specification setting assessments for all new parts.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Maths / Chemistry / Physics / Engineering,etc. or similar professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of quality or engineering experience in Chemical, Automotive industry.
• Have Customer relationship experience.
• Knowledge of IATF16949 standards. Knowledge of VDA6.3 standard.
• Competent user of Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab
• Keep good relationship with internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and proven team problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with cross-function team.
• Work under pressure and flexible to change.
• Very good project and time management.
• Fluent in written and verbal communication in English.
