Customer Due Diligence Associate

To support the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team in reviewing and updating Know Your Customer (KYC) information. The Associate is diligent in following procedures, proactive in escalating issues or exceptions to senior team members or management and contributes to the detection and mitigation of financial crime risks. This role works collaboratively within the CDD team and with stakeholders across Financial Crime Operations (FCO).

In this role you will:

  • Perform a variety of activities to support the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) functions, including onboarding, periodic reviews, KYC refresh, and client offboarding.

  • Support KYC activities including onboarding escalations (e.g., Politically Exposed Persons), KYC refresh of high-risk customers, and responding to all other KYC queries.

  • Follow and establish procedures and checklists to ensure all required documentation and information is collected, reviewed, and recorded accurately.

  • Identify and escalate any issues, exceptions, or unusual activity to senior team members or management in a timely manner.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating client records in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.

  • Manage customer offboarding processes, ensuring all required tasks are completed and communications are made to appropriately exit the customer while minimising complaints and ensuring a positive experience.

  • Respond to routine requests for information and support the resolution of exceptions.

  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing learning to stay current with procedures and regulatory changes.

  • Contribute to a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team.

Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Experience or strong interest in financial services, financial crime or KYC.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely.

  • Willingness to ask questions and escalate issues when something is unclear or not working as expected.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day client due diligence activities, including onboarding, KYC refresh, and offboarding, following established procedures.

  • Support KYC activities including onboarding escalations (e.g., PEPs), KYC refresh of high-risk customers, and all other KYC queries.

  • Collect and review client documentation and information, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Escalate exceptions, issues, or unusual activity to senior team members or management.

  • Manage customer offboarding, ensuring all tasks are completed and communications are made to appropriately exit the customer while minimising complaints.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.

  • Participate in training and team meetings to stay informed of process updates and regulatory changes.

  • Support the team in achieving compliance and operational goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.

  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in financial crime, AML/CTF, or compliance roles is a plus but not required.
