Job Description

Our Global Custody business within Investment Services comprises of Custody, Trade Services, Cash Processing, FX, Asset Servicing, Client Services and Settlements teams.

Our 2-year graduate program (undergraduate) will give you the opportunity to learn all aspects of the business and you will complete three rotations of 8 months:

  • Rotation 1: Global Fund Custody
  • Rotation 2: Global Settlements
  • Rotation 3:  Global Trade Services/Cash Operations

Responsibilities

  • Developing an understanding of how trades are processed and instructed to market across a range of asset classes, learning how to ensure instructions are accurate and submitted within required market deadlines.

  • Learning to monitor the full trade lifecycle from execution through to settlement, supporting the identification of failed or pending trades and contributing to root‑cause investigation and resolution activities.

  • Gaining hands‑on experience in daily cash and asset reconciliations, supporting the investigation of breaks and learning when and how to escalate unreconciled items in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

  • Building practical knowledge of settlement processes by supporting manual settlement and booking activities within internal custody and books‑and‑records systems under supervision.

  • Developing exposure to cash operations activities, including cash forecasting, funding requirements, and monitoring cash positions across multiple currencies.

  • Gaining insight into global market operations, supporting teams across different regions and learning about settlement models, market practices, and time‑zone driven workflows.

  • Developing client and stakeholder communication skills by supporting internal and external query management and escalations, ensuring timely responses and high standards of client service.

  • Learning to operate within established procedures and control frameworks, understanding how operational, financial, and reputational risks are mitigated, including regulatory and audit requirements.

  • Supporting trade and cash investigations by gathering data, analysing exceptions, and clearly documenting findings for review by senior team members.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, with a graduation year of 2025 or 2026.
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of financial and technology
  • Strong in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available to start on the 1st September
  • Industry experience 1 year or less
  • Attention to detail 

Location

  • Cherrywood. The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

Contract Type:

  • 2 year Fixed term Contract
