As a Software Engineer at Parsons, you will play a crucial role in troubleshooting and developing technical solutions to some of the most pressing safety issues of our time. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, a collaborative mindset and the ability to complete assignments with limited supervision. In-office candidates in the NoVa / West Virginia area are preferred, but remote options are also available for well qualified self-starting candidates.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Adding new features and capabilities to Parsons DroneArmor CUAS C2 Software product line.

  • Integrating new CUAS sensors and effectors with the DroneArmor CUAS C2 software.

  • Work with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), ICDs, etc to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

  • Process data from sensors to improve their effectiveness via the application of AI/ML based analysis of raw sensor data.

  • Control sophisticated effectors specifically designed to counter emerging CUAS threats.

  • Add and improve system automation to ensure operators are rarely required to intervene in system operation and collateral damage is minimized when drones are mitigated.

  • Leverage internally developed, CUAS specific AI/ML capabilities to improve system automation and provide customers’ actionable insights into the drone activity in their area.

  • This includes leveraging AI/ML (including LLMs) to support intelligent, automated analysis of the vast amounts of data collected by CUAS systems.

  • Diagnose and develop technical solutions related to complex software issues discovered during internal testing or by customers using deployed systems.

  • Develop and deploy integrations with other higher and lower level C2 and data sharing tools including up-echelon C2 / Common Operating Picture (COP) tools and down-echelon (TAK) systems that provide situational awareness data to end users and warfighters.

  • Directly supporting the demonstration and deployment of Parsons CUAS capabilities that you have helped to develop to protect and save lives.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related STEM discipline.

  • 5+ years of work experience showing elevating levels of responsibility

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance or the ability to secure one.

  • Expertise with Java software development.

  • Proficiency in developing and implementing custom software algorithms and applications.

  • Experience with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

  • Proficiency in coding interface messaging software components.

  • Experience in designing, testing, debugging and documenting software.

  • Familiarity with Ansible and open / modular SW engineering best practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience with Atlassian Products & GIT

  • Experience with Docker, Swing, React

  • Expertise in with AI/ML algorithm development and training.

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following disciplines: CUAS, Electronic Warfare(EW), LIDARCommand & Control (C2), Radars, EOIR/Cameras and/or Communications Electronics.

  • Experience working with or developing Geospatial Systems and processing/transforming geospatial data.

  • Ability to mentor peers and share knowledge effectively.

  • Ability to work locally full time or hybrid in our Summit Point, WV CUAS Integration and Test Facility (1 hour out side DC / Northern Virginia).

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites (and Parsons’ CUAS Integration Facility if a remote employee).

  • Specific to roles focusing on AI/ML work within the CUAS group:

  • Languages: Python (Expert), C++ (Intermediate/Advanced)

  • Python (Expert), C++ (Intermediate/Advanced)

  • Tools: Docker, Git, CMake, Confluence, JIRA. Bonus if experience with Jenkins and Artifactory.

  • Experience deploying ML models to edge devices.

  • Experience optimizing inference pipelines.

  • Experience curating custom datasets.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $125,100.00 - $225,200.00
