Position Overview
The Critical Facility Technician (CFT) is responsible for supporting the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure systems within the data center environment. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of electrical and mechanical systems that support continuous data center operations.
The position requires technicians with strong technical fundamentals and hands-on experience working with electrical, mechanical, or automation systems in complex facilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive troubleshooting mindset, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a structured and operationally critical environment.
A key aspect of the role is the ability to keep internal teams and customers informed about operational status, incidents, and maintenance activities, ensuring transparency and timely communication. Experience as a facility technician in industrial environments such as factories, airports, hospitals, or other large operational facilities is highly valued, as these environments require maintaining reliable infrastructure, responding to technical incidents, and reporting to stakeholders.
Duties
• Operate, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, switchgear, transformers, and BMS/SCADA systems • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing on electrical and mechanical systems • Respond to alarms, operational incidents, and technical faults promptly, ensuring minimal disruption • Document all activities, including inspections, maintenance work, incidents, and operational events • Communicate updates to internal teams, management, and customers regarding system status, incidents, or maintenance work • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for repairs, replacements, and system upgrades • Support planned maintenance activities, commissioning, and testing of new systems • Participate in emergency planning, drills, and escalation procedures • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for processes, preventive maintenance, and reporting standards • Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements
Essential Job Functions

Job Requirements
• Technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy Systems, Industrial Maintenance, or similar discipline • Experience working with electrical, mechanical, or automation systems in industrial or facility environments • Knowledge of power distribution, HVAC or cooling systems, generators, and industrial monitoring systems • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical schematics, and technical documentation • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • High awareness of safety procedures, operational standards, and regulatory compliance • Ability to work in a mission-critical environment while keeping customers and internal teams informed • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge • Proactive attitude toward incident reporting, customer notifications, and operational transparency
