Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Critical Facilities Technician to join our Iron Mountain Data Centers team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical facility support and maintenance of critical electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and building management systems within a 24x7 data center environment.You will join a dedicated team of experts focused on maintaining 100% uptime and providing world-class service to our global colocation customers.

What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain Critical Infrastructure: Take ownership of critical power, cooling, and security systems to meet or exceed up-time service levels while performing essential maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Collaborate and Oversee Vendors: Partner with contract vendors by permitting and monitoring their work to ensure all maintenance follows strict organizational safety and operating procedures.
  • Manage Operational Excellence: Monitor and resolve service tickets for customer installations and equipment troubleshooting while performing daily inspections of buildings and grounds to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.

What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Industry Experience: Proven experience working in a critical operations environment or data center (3–5 years of experience preferred).
  • Technical & Operational Expertise: Strong knowledge of managing service ticket queues and the ability to interpret documented processes and safety codes with high attention to detail.
  • Strong Professional Competencies: Proven ability in multi-tasking, organization, and time management to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Service-Oriented Mindset: A strong customer service mentality and the flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by a 24x7 operation.
