The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

As a Credential Receiving Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting WGU’s mission by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of student academic records. Your work helps prospective and continuing students move forward in their educational journey by managing and processing critical documentation with precision and care.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the mailroom to receive and organize incoming physical documents.
  • Open, sort, and scan academic credentials into document management systems.
  • Maintain, archive, and purge student academic records in compliance with policy.
  • Locate and rescan documents as needed for review or quality assurance.
  • Process and evaluate transcript and credential requests for prospective and continuing graduate students.
  • Ensure timely and accurate document processing aligned with university policies and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Credential Evaluation Operations team.

What You’ll Bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in administrative or document processing roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • The ability to move between campus buildings and lift and carry up to 25 pounds of materials and mail, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with document management systems or academic credential evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.

Experience in Lieu of Education

Equivalent relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements at the hiring manager’s discretion.

Work Location

This is a full-time, in-office position at WGU’s Salt Lake City, UT office.

Work Schedule

Part-time - Flexible hours between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
