Your Role

The Creative Technologist, Front-End/Creative Engineering contributes to the development of digital microsites, prototypes, and interactive content experiences for OUTFRONT XLabs. This role supports both production and exploratory work across front-end development, creative technology experimentation, and emerging media integrations. The Creative Technologist will work collaboratively with senior technologists and design teams to implement project requirements, assist with testing and documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development workflows.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain digital microsites, prototypes, and creative experiences using Next.js, Vercel, Neon/Postgres, and headless CMS tools such as Payload.

  • Implement front-end interfaces, animations, and interactive components based on design specifications and creative direction.

  • Support experimentation with generative AI tools, agentive workflows, real-time data integrations, and modern web visualization libraries.

  • Assist senior technologists with project execution, code implementation, QA testing, and documentation.

  • Participate in brainstorming, design critiques, and technical feasibility discussions.

  • Aid in troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring consistency across deployments.

  • Maintain version histories, documentation, and asset organization for assigned projects.

  • Contribute to improvements in development processes, templates, and code standards.

  • Assist with lab-based prototyping, device testing, and digital OOH content validation.

Your Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in front-end development, creative technology, or related digital design/engineering roles.

  • Strong foundational proficiency with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with React and modern front-end practices.

  • Willingness to learn and apply Next.js, Vercel, and database-backed environments such as Neon/Postgres.

  • Basic understanding of or interest in animation/visualization frameworks such as Three.js, GSAP, or D3.js.

  • Interest in exploring generative AI, creative automation workflows, and emerging interactive technologies.

  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub, version control workflows, and documentation best practices.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies.

The salary range for this role is $60,000-$75,000 per year.  Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.  Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
