As a CPU Validation Engineer at Intel, you will play a crucial role in shaping the performance and reliability of Intel's industry-leading processors. You will be at the forefront of defining, developing, and executing validation methodologies for Intel's high-performance and power-efficient CPU cores. Your contributions will ensure our processors meet stringent validation coverage, performance, power efficiency, and area goals, directly impacting Intel's success in delivering exceptional products to the market. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge innovation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processor designs, validate system-level features, and resolve complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop functional validation methodologies for CPU internals and system-level features.

  • Execute validation plans and assess proposed design changes for their impact on validation activities.

  • Perform silicon debug to identify root causes and resolve functional and triage failures for CPU issues.

  • Develop and maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure, including performance monitors, behavioral checkers, and test environments.

  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to optimize validation strategies and processes.

  • Test interactions between CPU features using advanced validation infrastructure to ensure silicon readiness.

  • Publish detailed validation reports summarizing activities, results, and recommendations.

  • Develop methodologies and content to enhance specific IP interactions using tools like microcode, firmware, or custom OS builds.

  • Engage in all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure readiness across diverse environments (simulation, emulation, FPGAs).

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience in CPU validation and debug

  • Experience in Python, C++, or other coding languages.

  • Experience with CPU architecture fundamentals, microarchitecture, or post-silicon validation and debug flows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Familiarity with applying validation methodologies and tools in simulation, emulation, and silicon environments.

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and communication with architecture, design, and manufacturing teams.

  • Capability to document and present technical findings effectively to diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Passion for innovation and driving solutions that enhance product performance and reliability.

  • Problem-solving expertise and the ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex CPU-related challenges.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $91,150.00-172,860.00 USD
