Brown & Brown is seeking an Enterprise Technology Governance Counsel to join our growing team.
The Enterprise Technology Governance Counsel will support the Legal Department and enterprise leadership by leading and coordinating key legal and governance initiatives across Brown & Brown and its subsidiary entities. This role is responsible for enterprise policy review and harmonization, and the development and oversight of global technology and artificial intelligence (AI) governance practices. This position requires strong legal judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate independently on complex, high-impact projects that span legal, compliance, technology, risk management, and business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct a comprehensive review of enterprise-wide policies, standards, and guidelines to identify gaps, inconsistencies, redundancies, and outdated provisions.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, IT, HR, and business leaders to align policies with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and business objectives.
Lead efforts to rationalize, standardize, and modernize enterprise policies, including governance frameworks and approval processes.
Support policy lifecycle management, including drafting, revisions, approvals, and periodic review.
Support the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of Brown & Brown’s Technology & AI governance framework on a global basis.
Monitor legal, regulatory, and industry developments related to AI, data usage, and emerging technologies.
Assist with drafting and maintaining Technology and AI-related policies, standards, and contractual guidance.
Partner with Technology, Security, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure responsible and compliant use of technology tools and vendors across the enterprise.
Lead and manage discrete legal and governance projects as assigned by the Chief Technology & Intellectual Property Counsel.
Provide legal analysis and recommendations on enterprise risk, governance, and technology-related initiatives.
Prepare executive-ready summaries, presentations, and briefing materials for senior leadership and committees.
Support cross-functional initiatives requiring legal coordination and enterprise-level alignment.

Education, Experience and Knowledge
Required:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant legal experience.
Ability to analyze complex organizational structures and translate legal concepts into practical governance solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, executive-level materials.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and operate with a high degree of independence.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across legal, technical, and business teams.
Limited travel may be required based on business needs.
Pay Range
$170,000 - $180,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
