ABOUT THE ROLE
Trojan Battery Company is looking for a driven and thorough person for the COS Operator III. Your role as the COS Operator III is an important step in battery formation. This process calls for someone with an attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The COS Operator III will be committed to performing the role safely and have the ability to wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including a respirator. THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Can perform each function in the area and trains new operators as needed.
- Sets-up and operates all machinery/equipment with superior efficiency
- Monitors controls and gauges to assure proper functions.
- Ensures continual operation of the COS assembly area.
- Able to efficiently make change overs to equipment as schedule requires.
- Load and punch containers on automatic feed line, clean molds, clean tin bath and flux stations; pour straps.
- Make appropriate parameter adjustments as needed to ensure batteries meet all specifications.
- Meets all quality requirements and standards
- Assist other team members as needed to maximize production.
- Completes daily standard production reports
- Performs inventory counts and reports. Verifies production and quality standards are met.
- Performs visual/physical inspections and tests for quality and quantity. Analyzes and diagnoses equipment malfunctions. Expedites repairs and corrective measures to prevent excessive downtime, schedule interruptions, and eliminate defects.
- Assists Supervisor/Lead in assigning work crews and various department operations (deliveries, transfers, data collection, etc.)
- Understand and follow Work Instructions
- Follow and maintain Lean activities (5S, Housekeeping, hygiene, etc)
- Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Forklift Certification preferred
- 6 months – 1-year manufacturing/plant experience.
- Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions.
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
