Corporate Treasury Reporting Analyst

1801 HOLLIS ST:HALIFAX Full time

Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Join RBC's U.S. Corporate Treasury function as a key analytical resource supporting the production and enhancement of cash flow forecasting daily reporting. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely production of short-term and long-term cash flow projections that maintain compliance with Federal Reserve Regulation YY and support liquidity management objectives. You will work on a forecasting model, continuously refining assumptions and methodology while maintaining data integrity across our forecasting framework—making a direct impact on treasury risk management.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Produce and maintain daily 30-day short-term and monthly 12-month long-term cash flow projections across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely distribution to key stakeholders.
  • Perform variance analysis and back-testing to support forecast accuracy and methodology refinement, investigating variances exceeding established thresholds and executing quarterly back-testing analysis by product and sub-product.
  • Manage and update cash flow forecasting assumptions and methodology in accordance with governance framework, maintaining assumptions for deposits, loans, securities, borrowings, intercompany flows, and other products based on historical analysis and back-testing results.
  • Maintain back-testing dashboards and summary reports for management review while supporting annual reviews of assumptions and threshold calibration.
  • Document and maintain cash flow forecasting processes, procedures, and controls, identifying and documenting key risks and controls associated with reporting.
  • Prepare updates for management committees such as ALCO.
  • Support audit requests and regulatory filings by preparing supporting documentation and identifying improvements to streamline processes.
  • Assist in developing new reporting requirements as regulatory changes are introduced.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting coupled with strong proficiency in building reporting tools and working with large databases.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills with strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities to investigate complex variances and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with established operating procedures while learning to use tools such as Tableau for reporting purposes.
  • Understanding of treasury operations and liquidity risk management concepts to contextualize cash flow projections and forecast assumptions.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to consistently maintain high accuracy standards while managing multiple forecasting timelines and stakeholder requirements simultaneously.

Nice-to-have

  • Prior exposure to capital markets, bank finance, or corporate treasury functions.
  • SQL and Python programming skills to support advanced analytics and process automation.
  • Experience in a large, publicly-traded financial services organization.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional groups including Finance, Operations, IT, and Group Risk Management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
