About the Role
A Senior Executive works closely with Assistant managers and Managers and clients and plays a critical role in the execution and delivery of audit engagements. The Senior is responsible for planning sections of audits, supervising associates, performing complex audit procedures, and ensuring high-quality results that comply with professional standards. This role provides the opportunity to develop leadership, technical, and client management skills in a collaborative and fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of employee benefit plans in accordance with ERISA, DOL, and other regulatory requirements.
- Review plan financial statements, participant data, contributions, distributions, notes receivable and disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
- Perform end-to-end employee benefit plan audits.
- Identify audit issues, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with clients to understand benefit plan structures and provide insights on compliance and reporting.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and clients.
- Assist in planning and executing audit engagements, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and employee benefit plan regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce (B.Com), MBA or Chartered Accountant (CA) or Semi-Qualified CA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Professional certifications in audit/accounting are an added advantage.
- 1- 4 years of relevant experience in auditing employee benefit plans.
- Exposure to Corporate Audit or Government Audits is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of audit procedures, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements related to benefit plans.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of employee benefit plan audits, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
- Familiarity with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations governing benefit plans.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client interaction.
- Proficiency in audit tools, MS Excel, and financial reporting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
